Malinda Prudhomme at ART WALK NORTH

On August 16th & 17th I exhibited my work in the inaugural ART WALK NORTH in Mel Lastman Square. I'll admit, it was quite the expensive trek from my downtown apartment, but it was totally worth it. We had such a great crowd of art enthusiast that, not only looked at the work, but asked questions and connected with the pieces. It was really great!

I had also decided to paint live for the first time and I think it was a really great idea. People weren't as shy to look at my work as I was busy working and had my eyes on my painting. But they also did not hesitate to chat with me which is just the best! I plan to paint at many more of my shows. :)

One highlight of the show was selling my piece "An Ode To Harry Potter" (seen in the middle in the picture above). The young woman who purchased the piece was really connected to it. She told me that she had read all of the books when she was younger and had great memories associated with them. She said she had given the books away when she moved and thought the painting would be a great way to remember them. I am so thrilled that she has this piece and I hope it brings her a lot of joy.
