I have always been inspired to create portraiture that expresses emotion and character. Yet after numerous portrait paintings I have learned that a large portion of that spirit comes from truly accurate and expressive eyes. Over the years, painting the eyes in my portraits has become my most favourite part of the painting process. It was with this in mind that I decided to create “Seeing Into The Soul”. With this series I hope to portray the emotion and character of each female. The women chosen for this project vary in size, age, ethnicity, and profession and, with no other features present; I hope to capture their “being” with accurate paintings of their eyes. I present to you ‘Seductive’, ‘Sultry’, ‘Secretive’, ‘Serious’, ‘Sweet’, and ‘Sensitive’.
