This beautiful commissioned mixed media painting was created for Kimberly Paparo to be given as a Christmas gift to her husband Nik Paparo. When she contacted me she asked if I could create something that contained both dragonflies and forget-me-knot flowers as the two have personal meaning to the couple. After toying around with some abstract ideas we decided on a softly abstracted background with a texture that compares to suede (achieved with multiple layers of acrylic paint) and a bright and realistic representation of a loving dragonfly couple (created using oil paint). I am so thrilled with the results and I've been told that Nik loved the piece as well! Creating love filled artworks is my greatest passion. It was such a pleasure. :)
