CALL FOR BEAUTY
True Beauty: An Untouched Project
I don’t know about you but I THINK in my sleep. Dreams are rare for me and instead of dreaming I think of the artworks I’m working on, updates I need to make, projects I need to work on, etc. This morning I woke up after a long night of thinking about my First Solo Exhibition which is taking place at Ben Navaee Gallery January 30th to February 5th 2015. I also thought about how I’d been wanting to do a large series featuring a beautiful variety of “everyday” women. Who is an “everyday” woman? A mother, teacher, hair stylist, artist, photographer, office worker, athlete, sister, pet owner, home maker, lab worker, nurse, model, student, absolutely EVERY woman is an “everyday” woman and I’m hoping to capture a diverse group. The key is that I will only be using untouched photos (not professionally edited) to capture the true beauty of each women. It may be a selfie or a photo someone took. It could even be an unedited photo that a photographer took. Using these beautiful untouched photos of women I will capture their true natural beauty using expressive colour and an emphasis on each woman’s unique facial features. This series will express the beauty of all women and in so doing allow any woman viewing the series to see the beauty in herself. It is my hope that this new series will be the focal point of my First Solo Exhibition.
Are you interested in submitting your beautiful face for this project?
Any woman from anywhere in the world, 14 years or older, can submit their images!
It does not matter what your profession, nationality, age, or size is.
YOU are beautiful and I would love to see your photos!
If you’d like your untouched/unedited images to be considered for this project please e-mail as many as you’d like to …

"Pretty Pascale"
July 2014
Oil Paint on Canvas
6" x 8"
COMMISSION
This beautiful black and white oil portrait painting was created as a custom work for a client and represents his stunning special friend, Pascale. Her unique beauty kept me passionate about the project throughout its creation. Her deep dark eyes and full lips allude to her beautiful character. From what I've heard from my client, her inner beauty, seen in her personality and love, is equal to that of her beautiful exterior.

Really REALLY excited to share this news with you! Ben Navaee Gallery, located on Queen East in Toronto, has offered me my very first SOLO EXHIBITION! The contract has been signed and fees have been paid, everything is official, and I could not be more thrilled! This is something that I have been dreaming about for years and years and I just can't wait! The exhibition will run from January 30 to February 05 2015 and Ben has kindly allowed me to plan for an Opening Night reception which I am currently thinking will be held on the Friday evening. I hope all of you can make it out to see my work in person and to celebrate this very exciting event in my life and career! More details will come as time progresses but please keep these dates in mind!

On Saturday June 07 and Sunday June 08 2014 I exhibited my artwork at the Riverdale Art Walk on Queen East in Toronto. The wonderful event, put on by the Artists' Network, was very well organized and, despite some gloomy weather on Sunday, was well attended. This was my first time exhibiting my new Custom Artwork section and it was really well received. I'm definitely looking forward to creating some lasting memories for future clients. It is always a pleasure discussing my work and hearing positive comments about the detail and realism I can achieve. Some folks who attend these shows really do not understand how much a simple "you're work is lovely" comment can mean to the artist. To all those who made me smile over the weekend, thank you! Hoping to see everyone again next year! :D

This acrylic painting of a beautiful Indian Bride was created as a study for a large scale commission. The artist was intending to test the blending limits of acrylic paint as well as test the process of adhering acrylic gems to a painting. In order to make the piece unique the artist added a pop of colour by pulling the gold and mauve colours from the background into the stones in the jewelry. The artist hopes the piece gives the viewer a sense of calm and elegant beauty.

"A Love For Living Past Lives"
May 2014
Oil Paint on Canvas
11" x 14"
COMMISSION
This beautiful figurative oil painting was commissioned by the subjects wife to be his 60th birthday present. It was such a pleasure capturing this moment of the subject before one of his beloved war re-enactments. I myself am a fan of history and vintage images so it was easy for me to stay inspired throughout the painting process. I hope the happy couple enjoys their portrait!
